Style & Approach

If you’ve been researching wedding photographers, you've probably come across the term “documentary-style” more than a few times. While that label is super common, it doesn’t fully capture what we do — or how we do it. Saying you document a wedding tells people what you aim to do, but not how you go about doing it.

Of course, we absolutely do document the day — telling the story of your wedding moment by moment. But here’s our secret sauce: From the first shot in the morning to the last shot at night, we will be crafting each image….making constant note of the light, compositions, angles, colors, actions and all the creative opportunities that elevate a good photo into something unforgettable.

There’s a difference between capturing a great moment and creating a great photograph. When those two things intersect — when a real, emotional moment is also beautifully photographed — that’s the magic. That’s what we’re chasing all day long.

To make that happen, we come prepared. Really prepared. We arrive early, scout the spaces, visualize key moments, and get inspired before the action starts. That preparation gives us the freedom to stay fully present and ready for everything that unfolds — all the moments, big and small, expected and unexpected, that make the day so special.

Weddings are dynamic. While one big moment is happening front and center, there are often several others happening in unison on the sidelines. And while no one’s figured out how to be in two places at once... we’ve got the next best thing: both of us shooting together, all day.

This isn’t a “lead photographer plus second shooter” situation. You get both Erik and Rafael — two experienced, creative, and fully invested lead photographers — from start to finish. We’ve worked together for years, and we bring that natural rhythm, trust, and collaboration to every wedding we shoot.
